1. Sessions

Each counselling or coaching session lasts 50 minutes, unless otherwise agreed (e.g., extended coaching sessions).

  • Sessions cannot be extended if you arrive late.

  • Fees are payable 24 hours in advance.

  • You must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session to avoid being charged.

  • If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, I will try to offer another time within the same week. If this is not possible, the full session fee will be due.

2. Confidentiality

All counselling sessions are confidential. However, there are legal and ethical exceptions, including:

  • If I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm.

  • If you disclose criminal activity.

  • If required to do so by law or court order.

  • In accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework, which I adhere to.

Clinical Supervision

As required by the BACP, I attend regular clinical supervision. This may involve discussing aspects of our sessions to ensure best practice. Your identity will not be disclosed, and all discussions remain confidential within professional boundaries.

3. Data Protection and Record Keeping

a. Session Notes

  • I keep brief, anonymised notes about each session.

  • These notes are securely stored (digitally or physically) and are not identifiable by name.

  • Notes are used solely for therapeutic purposes and professional oversight.

b. Use of Material for Accreditation

  • For accreditation or continued professional development, I may submit written material from sessions.

  • Any such content is anonymised, and reviewed only by professionals who are also bound by the BACP’s ethical framework.
